PGI PELOPONNESE

The PGI Peloponnese area, established in 1989, consists of 7 regional units: Argolida, Arcadia, Achaia, Ilia, Corinthia, Laconia and Messinia. PGI Peloponnese wines (Protected Geographical Indication), in accordance with national and European wine legislation, do not belong to the same quality category as PDO wines, but also largely demonstrate authenticity, authenticity and formality, concerning their varieties and regions. PGI Wines Peloponnese, produced by Zacharias Winery, in the wine-growing zone located on the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Nemea, in Corinthia of the Peloponnese, as well as in Mantineia of Arcadia.
The climate of the Peloponnese varies depending on its region and altitude. It is mild and warm on the coast and cold inside. In general, the Peloponnese is a privileged region, in terms of climate, because it has the characteristic Mediterranean climate type.

Oenological Practices
«PGI PELOPONNESE»

White dry wine PGI Peloponnese is produced according to modern technology of white wine production and the temperature during alcoholic fermentation does not exceed 20°C.
White wines have a bright white-yellow color with an aromatic nose of flowers, citrus and fruit.
The red dry wine PGI Peloponnese is produced according to the classical method of red winemaking to produce red wines.
Red wines have a moderate or deep ruby color with a strong and very complex aromatic nose.
The red wine PGI Peloponnese is produced according to modern technology of the production of red wines and the temperature during alcoholic fermentation does not exceed 20°C.

The white wine PGI Peloponnese is produced from grapes of the varieties Nightingale, White, Athiri, Asproudia, Assyrtiko, Kydonitsa, Lagori, Malagouzia, Monemvasia, Moschato white, Moschofilero (Fileri), Petroulianos, Roditis, Rokanaris, Savvatianο, Ironitis, Siadopoulos, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Amintho, Viogner, Riesling, Robola, Gewutztraminer and Ugni blanc.
The red wine PGI Peloponnese is produced from grapes of the varieties Agiorgitiko, Augustiatis, Voidomatis, Voloitsa Black Trapsa, Kolliniatiko, Mandilaria, Black Kalavrytino, Mavrodaphne, Mavroudi, Mavrounia, Dogpnichi, Fokiano, Wholesale Black Calabrian, Psilo-black Kalavrytino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache rouge, Merlot, Tempranillo, Mourvedre, Carignan, Syrah and Refosco.
